Asus announced workstations E500 G5 and E500 G5 SFF on the IntelMehlow platform.
The system units are presented in two sizes: large (Tower) and small (SmallForm-factor). Their dimensions are 410 mm * 96 mm * 330 mm for a small unit, and 423 mm * 190 mm * 435 mm for a large system. The weight of the devices is 7.5 kg and 14.5 kg respectively. The hearts of the workstations are new processors IntelXeon E-2100 series from 4 to 6 cores, from 4 to 12 streams and frequencies from 2.7 to 4.8 gigahertz. These chips are used to achieve high speed and sufficient performance for the use of business programs, as well as for resource-intensive tasks, such as video rendering or creating 3D animations.
The motherboards work on the Intel C246 chipset and support the installation of Core processors (i-3, i-5, i-7) on the LGA 1151 socket. The new system boards have four PCIe 3.0 x16 ports for professional graphics cards and additional boards. Computers are equipped with an M.2 connector, which has a throughput of up to 32 Gbit/s. The amount of installed RAM can be up to 64 GB. There are two slots for the 3.5 “hard drive and 2.5” solid state drive. The front panel has the USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 slots.
