Huawei has created the two new artificial intelligence chips — Ascend 910 and Ascend 310.
Ascend 910 is built on a 7-nm process technology, designed to work in data centers and will be able to process huge amounts of information.
The second chip is Ascend 310 and it will be less powerful than Ascend 910. It is built on a 12-nm process technology and is designed for the less demanding devices (phones, unmanned vehicles and other smart devices).
According to the Chairman of Huawei Xu Zhijun (Xu Zhijun), Ascend 910 will be able to solve all the tasks regardless of their complexity, and Ascend 310 will improve the use of AI in all spheres of life.
The new developments of Huawei will compete with products from such companies as Nvidia, Microsoft, Qualcomm in the field of technologies with AI.
The release of the new chips is planned for the second quarter of 2019.
