Microsoft has updated a test version of DirectML. DirectML is an addition to DirectX 12, working similarly to DXR (ray tracing) technology, but will be aimed at the development of artificial intelligence. Microsoft aims to improve the user-software interaction by improving the machine learning algorithm.
DirectML will be able to determine the best color for each pixel, which will affect the improvement of the scalable graphics and reduce the load on the GPU. It will simply be possible to switch from FullHD screens to 4K with not any loss of the image quality.
Microsoft is investing all its efforts in the development of AI. Previously, the AI function was already implemented in Windows 10, so that the system can track when the user is not working on the PC and choose a convenient time to install updates.
A full version of DirectML is expected in the spring of 2019.
