Taiwanese manufacturer of a computer hardware Acer has introduced the lightest laptop with a screen diagonal of 15 inches.
The body of Acer Swift 5 is made of lithium and magnesium alloy, which is the main element for achieving the light weight. The maximum thickness of 15.9 mm and the assembly materials allowed the developers to reach the weight of the device only 990 grams. In addition to this feature the representatives of the company noted the high performance of the laptop. The role of the central processor are the chips of Core-i5 and Core-i7 processors, the new line WhiskeyLake from Intel. DDR4 has a capacity of 16 gigabytes, and the storage of the user files is provided by a solid-state drive up to 1 terabyte. For a data transfer here is a Wi-Fi adapter 802.11 ac 2×2. The laptop is equipped with the required number of interfaces: two USB 3.1 Type-a sockets, one USB Type-C port and HDMI video output.
The Swift 5 matrix has a resolution of FullHD (1920×1080), and covers 87.6% of the laptop cover area. The display frame has a minimum thickness of 5.87 mm. The monitor has a technology «Color Intelligence», which allows you to adjust the transmission of the colors and brightness for a comfortable use. In conditions of an insufficient light and to reduce the negative effect on the user’s vision, here is included Acer Blue Light Shield. It is worth noting that in low light conditions the use is easier due to the presence of a backlight on the keyboard.
Acer Swift 5 will visit store shelves early next year. The price of the devices depends on a complete set and begins from 1100 dollars.
